I am no longer able to hide Your Word in my heart.

At least without considerable effort. This article is definitely challenging and worth a read, and if you can’t read through all of it, it has proven it’s point.

One of my resolutions for 2012 has been to memorize more of Scripture, make a conscious effort to commit it to memory. The author is so right when he says that we do not have time to search for “that verse” that’s on the tip of our tongue when Satan comes and attacks us with temptations. It needs to be in our mind, ready be to called up in a split-second’s notice. Can you imagine how utterly silly you would look if you were to say, “Hold on, I need to look up that verse that says such and such. I know it’s in here!” and yet, I’ve been there so many times. Sure, I`ve read through the whole Bible several times, but not enough to really know it. How can I, like Psalm 119:11 says, not sin against my Lord and Saviour if I do not have the Word hidden in my heart?

Renewed determination.

  2. Totally know what you mean. And considering the Sword of Truth and prayer are the only two spiritual weapons we have…we need to train well on how to wield it. Add oil!

  3. Thanks Grace for sharing! Good reminder to not allow our brains to atrophy esp when it comes to the word of God.
